Rainbow earned her first qualifying score and first place with a 99 in Rally Advanced B! Handled by Dorothy Mash, bred and owned by Charlotte, Rainbow is now Trumpet's Ultimate Caddis, JH, RN, 1 q/s RA, CGC, CCA, WCX!

Raleigh earned his 3rd qualifying score and Rally Novice title from the Novice B class with a score of 97, Dorothy Mash handling. He earned qualifying scores @ the double header on 1/16/2010 with an 89 @ San Mateo DTC, and a 98 and First Place @ San Francisco DTC. Bred and owned by Charlotte, Raleigh is now: Trumpet's Hare's Ear, JH, RN, CGC, TDI.

Raleigh earned his Working Certificate on June 5, 2010 at NorCal's test, Denverton, CA. He is now: Trumpet's Hare's Ear, JH, RN, CGC, WC, TDI!

Suzanne and Ruby earned their WCX title. Ruby, a rescued Golden, earned her UDX and WC in 2008, and now has her WCX at the age of nine. Ruby's owners Suzanne and Walter Mikolajcik want to thank Cheryl Baca, Ruby's field trainer; and Norcal members Charlotte Gaynor, Bill Taylor, Bruce Hayes, and Joan Marsh, training partners all; and Jay Phelps for the generous use of his ranch and equipment for WCX training.

Ruby will now go into retirement from official competition. She may still enter brace or team classes in obedience with her baby sister Jade. The Mikolajcik family is so very, very proud!

My little hot shot Tater Tot, once again I pretty much did the chauffering only although she did allow me to escort her to the line off leash, at least on the land. On the water, she pretty much went ahead of me and sat and waited for her slowpoke handler to catch up. Good girl Taitt, I'm very proud of you! Thank you, our many friends who cheered for us in practice and at the test.

Ryman, the baby of the participants at just nine months, qualified for his WC title on Sunday, June 5 at the club's WC/WCX test at Denverton Road. Congratulations to all the qualifiers and thank you to all of the folks who worked so hard to put this event on.

Arson achieved his Working Certificate Excellent Title. Thus far, Arson has had what most would consider an illustrious field career (depending on who the audience is) and yet I feel like we haven’t even got started yet. At 28 months Arson may appear to be a boyish nonchalant fellow however, the wall of field ribbons behind him would tell another story. Arson is an extraordinarily obedient dog that wants very badly to please. He’ll chase a jackrabbit at Greyhound speeds so don’t be fooled by his gentleman like looks. This boy is focused and can make it happen.

Dream earns her 100th High In Trial! Dream earns her 11th AKC perfect 200 score!

For the month of June, Dream attended 12 shows in Utah, Idaho and Oregon. She did a great job, coming home with 8 High In Trials and 10 High Combineds.

Sliver earned her RN and RA on a trip to Utah and Idaho. She did earn two perfect 100 scores when she could keep all four feet on the ground!

Blue ribbon bonanza! Ten in a row!! Finn made his obedience and rally debuts with Bill Anderson, and earned his Rally Novice, Rally Advanced, and Companion Dog titles, and one leg toward his Rally Excellent, in straight shows qualifying and winning First Place blue ribbons in each and every show! We are so proud of Finn and thank Bill Anderson for his expertise and ability to take a golden boy who is too serious on the one hand and far too goofy on the other, and find the perfect balance to achieve such success in the ring. Here's a Grandma brag from two of the three NORCAL GRC Suzannes! Flaxen Fields Faraway Four Under Par - Hogan - just turned a year old and already has 5 points from the 9-12s puppy classes (including a Group 1!) plus a RWD his first time in the 12-15s. Hogan was bred by Sarah Wright and is owned by Trish Gonzalves (both of whom will soon be a NORCAL GRC members I hope!) and is co-owned by Sarah and Suzanne Fortner, who calls herself his caddie and does his wonderful grooming. At the Lost Coast KC, Dream won first in all classes High In Trial and High Combined all three days. She also earned her 12th perfect 200 score.

At the Del Monte KC, Dream won High In Trial all three days and High Combined two days (she was only shown in one class one day).

Up in Reno at the Truckee Meadows DTC shows, Dream won High In Trial and High Combined two out of three days and was Highest Three Day Combined Score. She also earned her 13th perfect 200 score!!!

So for the month of July Dream earned her UDX14 and is the first NORCAL member to earn the OGM title. Dream earned 2 perfect 200's, 8 High In Trials and 7 High Combineds.

Trumper went Best Veteran at the GRC BC Specialty under Judge Barbara Pepper with Junior Handler Olivia Nobes. Trumper was judged against approximately 20 champions! Judge Pepper could not say enough about his outstanding physical condition at 8 years old.

Trumper also finished is Can. RN with a perfect score!

It was a cliff hanger on the double, but positive Polly figured it out! Yea!!! Many thank yous to our fine judges and to everyone who worked at the test.

Polly successfully completed her RN title in 3 shows in a row, with all first placements. Each day she got better and better! Yea Polly!

Trip completed her RN with a 2nd place, 3rd place, and a yawn ... been there done that ... in 3 consecutive shows. What a character! It's back to the fields for us.

Rainbow earned her Rally Advanced title from the B class with 3 consecutive qualifying scores on 5/15/10, 1st Place, score: 99, Mission Trail Poodle Club, 7/17/10, 1st Place, score: 100/time 1:40, Del Monte Kennel Club, and 8/7/10 score: 88(missed a sit)/time 1:41, Dog Training Club of Salinas Valley. Her younger brother Raleigh earned his 2nd q/s of 100/time 1:51 & 1st Place at this same trial; both handled by Dorothy Mash.

Jade finished her CDX title and earned a First Place ribbon in Open A. Jade is two years and five months old. Her obedience trainers are Cessie Banfield and Stephanie Gomez. In the upcoming months, while preparing for her Utility title, Jade will be training for her Master Hunter title.

Jade's breeder and field trainer is Norcal's Cheryl Baca. Cheryl did a recent breeding of Jade's dam and sire that resulted in nine new Golden puppies who were whelped within one hour of Jade's title and win on Sunday. Cheryl can be contacted at 707-429-2456.
