Snap earned his UD at the San Mateo show. He earned his CD, CDX & UD in 2008.

Dream won High In Trial & High Combined at the Salinas and Santa Cruz shows. She also finished her UDX8 title.

At the AKC National Invitational Dream placed #2 in Goldens and #2 in the sporting group. She was #3 seed after Saturday.

Ritzi earned her 2nd CDX q/s with a 195-1/2 from Open B, Dorothy Mash handling!

Ricky picked up his first point under Judge Miss Mike MacBeth going Winner's Dog and Best of Opposite at 18 months from the AmBred Class.

"Flyer" earned her Master Hunter title at this now infamous Master Hunt Test. Only 6 dogs passed, 2 of them being Goldens. Coming back strong from maternity leave, Flyer has passed 3 straight Master tests. She did not need to be handled on any marks in the last 2 tests. In the spring, she will be running Master Tests in order to qualify for the Master National. Hopefully her puppy, "Ember" will be following in Mom's and Grandma Zinger's footsteps.

"Gabby" completed her Master Hunter Title and Qualified for the Master National at Prado. One of only six dogs to get through this gruelling test. One of the only dogs who did not have to be handled on any marks throughout each series. She is my first Master Hunter and to qualify for the Master National as well is the "Icing On The Cake". Who would have thought my return puppy at 8 months would be my first success in Master! Talk about things that are meant to be! Gabby is certainly meant to be with me.

Rainbow earned her 2nd q/s in Rally Novice B with a 2nd Place and score of 98, Dorothy Mash handling.

Ritzi earned her first CDX q/s from Open B with a 193, Dorothy Mash handling.

We are very pleased that Jodie finished her RAE in 10 straight tries. It was fun to finish at our own club's trial with lots of our friends there.

The following weekend, Jodie earned her first JH leg at the NorCal Hunt Test.

WR, Ch.Regency Any Excuse To Shop RE, SH, WCX, VC finished her CD, she now qualifies for a VCX.

Dream won High In Trial from Open B with a score of 199.5 and High Combined with a score of 398.5. Dream has now earned over 1000 OTCH points!

"Gabby" successfully completed her first two Master legs at the Double Header in Prado recently. Gabby was a SuperStar. On the last series of the second test someone from the gallery yelled out "Give that Golden an 11!!" Which in HT language means above the best score. Gabby is a fun dog to watch run. Hard, fast and very stylish in water and on land. On a good day Gabby is very very good. On a bad day Gabby can be very very bad. Either way I love her and understand that no amount of training will change this and enjoy the challenges she gives me at times.

"Keltie" was one of only fourteen dogs to pass the 60 Dog Master Test held by the Redwood Empire Retriever Club. She actually ran four series very cleanly. The original 2nd series land triple was scratched after she succesfully completed it. After receiving a round of applause from the Gallery and the Judges telling us she had done the best job of the dogs who ran this more than complicated triple the Judges determined it was a series to be scratched. Keltie then went down to Prado and ran another very clean Master test and received her 3rd pass. She then went out for a day of Fun to the NorCal GRC Singles Series and shared First Place in the Advanced Group with 3 other terrific dogs! Having recently come back from maternity leave she has not missed a beat. I am very proud of my Keltie Bear!

"Journey" earned his Open Standard Preferred title one month short of his 11th birthday. He also completed his Open Jumpers Preferred title on June 15, 2008 at the Monterey Bay DTC Agility Trial.

I just received a letter in the mail. Dream won the GRCA OTCH Ric O Shay Barty WCX trophy, earned for excellence in competition during 2007. The trophy is awarded to the Golden Retriever who has accumulated the greatest number of highest combined scores in Utility & Open B during the previous calendar year, and who has earned any AKC or GRCA recognized field title.  The trophy will be awarded at the 2008 GRCA National!

Visa finished her RE with a 1st place and a 99 in Excellent A.

Rainbow earned First Place with a perfect score of 100 in Rally Novice B her first time in a ring ever with the fastest course time and she was the youngest dog entered at 16 months!, handled by Dorothy Mash.

We took a trip across the country where Dream after 6 months off for motherhood earned her UDX7 and TWO PERFECT SCORES of 200. Dream enjoyed being back in the ring and meeting new friends. Dream attended shows in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont and Texas. She won 4 High In Trials, and 7 High Combined awards.

Snap took a trip across the country with Dream and stepped into the obedience ring earning his CD & CDX and tieing for High In Trial two times.

Katie and her mom Arline achieved another title. Three times in and a New RN. 99, 96 and 100! She is now Bacio d' Oro Chianti Classico CDX, OAP, OJP, RN. What a team!

Charlotte Gaynor's Rainbow earned her WC with speed and style, following in her mother's paw prints - Ritzi whelped 9 pups the day before so Rainbow was on her own!

We are doing this brag mainly for our Moms. Certainly not for us. Look what they made us do. It was so darn embarrassing, and just because we both got some silly little title spelled "OTCH" within 3 weeks of each other. But, since we are best friends, this was way cool. We don't know what we did to make them so happy, but whatever it was, it was well worth all the effort. They are so calm and relaxed now and just so down right happy, we can hardly believe it! So, we guess that having those 4 little letters in front of our names was worth everything they put us through. We don't even want to think about what they have in store for us next! Yeow!

Ruby Roja, UDX, earned her Junior Hunter title on Sauvie Island. Ruby has an AKC ILP and is seven and a half years old. Ruby began hunt training with Cheryl Baca less than one year ago, in July of 2007, after earning her UDX. In addition to her JH title, Ruby earned her WC in Fairfield on June 7, 2008. Ruby is owned and handled by Suzanne Mikolajcik, who is going to continue to train with Cheryl toward completing Ruby's WCX before officially retiring her.

Scout finished her OTCH by winning Utility B and going HIT. Our thanks to Dee Dee Anderson and Scout's sister, Dream, for showing us the way.

Finnegan earned his RAE (Rally Excellent Advanced) title today with a 1st place in Rally Excellent B under Judge Bea Moore! Although we have just been entering trials from time to time as we train for utility, he earned 10 straight RAE legs with multiple perfect 100s, 1sts, and other placements-- despite a few handler errors ;-). I am very proud of my Horny Toad, my Foo Man Choo. We were especially pleased to finish the title under Bea who was the judge for our very first Rally Novice A leg!

The Mikolajcik's are very proud to announce the addition of a new family member. On May 4, 2008, Magicgold's Orient Express, "Jade," was brought home to Green Valley. Jade was the first female pick of Cheryl Baca's litter of 19! When she was only 8 weeks old, Jade was photographed for a Humane Society poster contest, and an artist is selling a painting of her on e-bay. Jade is not only beautiful, but intelligent as well. She is already training with Cheryl in the field and with Cessie Banfield in obedience. Jade is loved by her big sister Ruby Roja, UDX, JH, WC; they enjoy swimming and playing together.

Tulley took WD/BOW for 2 points from the 6-9 puppy dog class.

Pregnant Ritzi earned her 3rd q/s and First Place in Rally Novice B with a 99 - she had the fastest course time AGAIN - for her RN title, and earned her 3rd q/s and Second Place in Obedience Novice B with a 191-1/2 for her CD, all 6 q/s consecutive!   (Her first Novice Rally leg was earned on Feb 16, and her first Novice Obedience leg was earned on March 22).   Thanks to handler, Dorothy Mash!

Brodie went Best of Winners for 2 more points under judge Dr. Donald Sturz Jr.---always owner handled

Ritzi's daughter, Rainbow earned 4 consecutive q/s @ Monterey Bay HRC and Hills Ferry HRC, Los Banos and @ Marin RC's Double Junior tests, Denverton for her JH title!

Foo earned two more RAE legs this weekend including another perfect 100 score/1st place. He was a VGB. :-)

Visa completed requirements for her WR (Working Retriever) in NAHRA, equal to AKC Senior Hunter.

Amber (at age 12.5) finally earned her RAE title. We had hoped to finish it last year, but she blew several perfect scores in Excellent by failing the honor. Of course, now that it's only -10 points instead of an NQ, she did her honor twice just fine.

Amber is now officially Timberline Calif Amber Flame CD, RAE, JH, OA, OAJ, AXP, AJP, WC.

Finn and I are enjoying entering rally trials from time to time while training for utility. On Sunday "Foo" won 1st place in Rally Excellent B and 2nd place (with a tied score but a slower time by .10 second!) in Rally Advanced B for his 7th RAE leg. Rally is lots of fun!

Kiaran earned his Show Dog Hall of Fame with back to back Group I wins and followed up the next two days with a Group II and a Group III wins for a total of 30 SDHF points!

Bianka my 14 month Golden was entered in the 12-18 month Puppy Class and won Winners and Best Op and getting her very first Point. She loves Showing and is such a bundle of fun. Bianka also knows what's in your pocket...

Jodie earned her Open Jumpers title in three straight tries, finishing under judge Laura Finco. She is now officially Emberain Gemstone Dare To Dream RE OAJ.

I am very proud to brag that on Friday, March 14th, Liam earned his NAP and NJP, which qualifies him for the GRCA VCX. Liam is now, SHR Am CH Sherwood's Tullamore Dew CDX JH NAP NJP WC VCX CGC.

Chad qualified for his 4th AKC Senior Hunter leg and is now officially SR Osprey's Dimpled Chad RN, SH, WCX. We are proud of the big red boy !

Kiana is my first Champion Golden Bred by me. She won Best of Winners and got her last Major at Silver Bay. Last year she She got her first Major at Lake Matthews and at Redwood Empire won a Group 2. Now that Kiana is a Champion she is looking for a suitable Stud. Thanks to Laurie, Larry and Lizzie Jordan-Fenner for Handling Kiana

"Sammy" earned his TDX title by running an excellent track in under 15 minutes. "Sammy" ignored the cross tracks and had good article indication. The track was over 3 hours old with 7 turns, in the 835 yeards of track. There were many obstacles and there was heavy rain! "Sammy" even had a coyote skeleton on the last turn - thankfully he checked it out and then came back and finished the last leg of the track. Now on to VST!

Tulley, who just turned 6 mos. took RWD from the 6-9 puppy class his first show weekend.

We are excited to report that Sniffer went Best of Breed at the Golden Gate Kennel Club on Saturday Jan. 26th. The Golden Gate KC show is always an interesting venue and the Best of Breed win was a great way for Sniffer to start 2008. Huge thank you’s to Terri Brennan-Weiss for showing Sniffer.
