NORCAL’s annual summer fun match on the beautiful mowed grass acreage of Kirigin Cellars Winery in Gilroy offers practice run-throughs in Obedience, Rally, and Conformation plus AKC CGC evaluations. Volunteer to steward: stewards get one free entry plus morning hospitality and a great lunch! To volunteer contact Dimity Mueller at dimitydm@yahoo.com.

Pre-entries are $13; day-of-match entries are $15. Closing date for pre-entries is Aug 18th. NOTE: Obedience entries are limited; day-of match will be accepted only if limits are not reached by closing date.

NORCAL GRC is hosting an agility cluster with Oakland DTC in Dixon.

This cluster is a BRAND NEW EVENT and is in addition to our annual agility trial in November. We are looking forward to a great four day event, with Sunday and Monday hosted by Oakland DTC. This is an excellent opportunity to bring out the Novice dog or work on those Triple Q’s and MACH points.

Sign ups begin at 8:15. If you are not going to be there by 8:45 please let Nancy Corbin know in advance. If you are planning on leaving early please be fair to your training members and plan on throwing first before running your dogs, so that everyone takes a turn throwing.

Cost is $10 for your first dog and $5 for each aditional one. First time attendees get the first dog for free.

Please bring along a modest amount of your spcial recipe to share at lunch time in additional to your usual sandwich or salad. Don’t forget to bring your paperplates and utinsils to eat with.

As usual we invite all retrievers except Labs and Chessies who have their own large local clubs to schedule events for them. We will be getting the dogs tuned up for upcoming hunt events. As usual, beginners are encouraged to attend to learn about the things our dogs were bred to do – retriever birds! There will be a seperate group for beginners. Hope to see you all soon!!!

Directions: 3439 Cloverdale Road, Pescadero, CA 94060. Take Highway 1 south from Half Moon Bay or north from Santa Cuz. Turn east on Pescadero Road, and proceed through the stop sign in the town of Pescadero. Turn right on Cloverdale (sign for Butano Park) and go about 2 miles. Jones Lake is on the right at Westlands Nursery. A NORCAL sign will be posted. Go in the driveway (beware of hidden speed bumps) to the bottom of the hill,k turn right onto gravel roa and go to the picnic area at the top of the hill.
